Well as I eagerly await my Arduino turning up I thought it would be good to get my hands on a simulator to have a play before I do anything else. There doesn’t seem to be much available when it comes to simulation and as such I only found 1 that looks pleasing to the eye and that was Virtual Breadboard (VBB).
I asked around on Arduino IRC channels and on forums and the response from quite a few people was that VBB was poor, this made me take a step back as VBB is $49 which works out around £30. Now I’m not being a scrooge but £30 is a lot to spend on something that is crap.
I managed to locate a “demo” copy to play with to see if it’s any good. I fired it up and the demos seemed to work ok but last night I didn’t have time to write my own sketch to see how it performs with that.
In the next few days I’ll have a play and let people know what it’s like.
